The Compassion of the Gospel

Keeping it Real and Doing it Right

Sue Carr & the 541 Team

541 – Eatery & Exchange is a recent addition to Hamilton.  It is a “for-benefit” cafe that makes locally-sourced wholesome meals accessible to everyone.  541 has quickly become a “thin place”, where the Kingdom is worked out in simple and sometimes messy ways.  In this breakout session, Sue Carr and the 541 team will share how they began, what the challenges have been, and some of the stories that are evidence of God at work.  They’ll draw out some themes that point towards ways the Gospel is being shared, and what it feels like to actually do it.  And hopefully we’ll come up with some new ways of ‘doing 541’ that will fit your context.
Sue Carr has always worked along Barton Street – as a chaplain at the Hamilton General Hospital, as Chaplain at Mission Services of Hamilton, and now as Executive Director of 541 Eatery and Exchange , where she also pastors The Meeting Place.  She is married, lives in Dundas and is a very proud grannie.  She’ll be joined for this workshop by some of the gifted staff and volunteers from 541.
