Justice through Environmental Stewardship
We all too easily overlook the environmental component of injustice. Yet our environmental choices, both individually and as a society, have profound justice implications. Whether it is waste disposal policies, emission standards, water quality, food supply, transportation systems, biodiversity, or any other area of environmental concern, all affect the quality of life people experience. And people in poverty are affected most of all.
In this workshop we will be examining environmental justice issues locally and internationally, learning together how we can address these issues, both as individuals and communities. We will meet off site at a local community centre a short walk from Philpott–this will give us the opportunity to consider environmental realities in this neighbourhood and to connect with some great local initiatives.
